Lightweight Alexander “Big Troubles” Podolsky (10-1, 4 KOs) erased bad memories of his last fight and came back into a winning column yesterday at the Pabellon municipal in Sedavi, Spain, where he blitzed overmatched Georgian Anzor Gamgebeli (34-23-3, 18 KOs) in less than a round.

“It happens sometimes that you fail to showcase everything you have been training in the gym”, said 26-year old Podolskiy afterwards.

“This time three body shots got the job done. I was unable to demonstrate my defensive abilities because my offense was quite good this time. It should be improved as well, but that was not the fight I would be able to polish my skills in. Pepper him with the jab, use your body punches to stop him in his steps. Whatever. For the first time he [Gamgebeli] took a knee, then another punch to the liver ended it. Just twenty seconds or about that”, commented Podolsky.

He also mentioned some name after the fight, specifically European lightweight champion Edis Tatli (30-2) and his recent bitter opponent Franceso Patera (18-3). Podolsky has been fighting for the fourth time in Spain, his last outing ending in disaster when he was stopped by 13-0 up-and-comer Jon Fernandez.

On a side note – just like his fellow compatriot and fellow lightweight Andrey Klimov of Klimovsk, Russia – Podolsky represents the city of Podolsk.
