Fedor Papazov was once thought to be a star in the making by those who guided him - but he just never took off, his best remembrance being possibly a first-leg loss to a young Vasyl Lomachenko in 2007 Chicago amateur championship.

Papazov, now 34, represented Greece twelve years ago, despite being the Russian citizen and having been born in Tuapse, Krasnodar Region of Russia. On Saturday night, Papazov came back to his historical homeland and acquired a vacant Eurasia Boxing Parliament light welterweight title, when his Polish opponent Michal Chudecki (13-4-2, 3 KOs) quit at 2:40 of the sixth on a leg injury. He was down 44-50 on all the scorecards.

Papazov, meanwhile, improved to 22-3, 13 KOs. The event took place at the PAOK Sports Arena in Thessaloniki.

In a division, filled in with Polish talent of different level and aspiration, another one competed on Saturday. Cruiserweight Nikodem Jezewski (18-0-1, 9 KOs) headlined in the event, staged by Krystian Kazyszka in Koscierzyna, Pomerania Region, Poland.

Jezewski clearly dominated but failed to stop veteran journeyman TamasLodi of Hungary, despite putting him down twice in the second. Scores were: 80-70 (twice) and 79-71. Lodi is down to 20-13-2, 7 KOs. Lodi is best known for spoiling the record of three Finnish fighters – JarnoRosberg, JuhoHaapoja and JanneForsmann.

When you think the end is the end, Rafal Jackiewicz will definitely come out to suggest his point of view. The seemingly endless road continued for now 42-year old Polish veteran, who outpointed journeyman Sebastian Skrzypczynski (12-18-2, 5 KOs) 40-36 on a sole card. The fight was held in Zyrardow, and a former European champion and world title challenger is now 51-26-2, 22 KOs.

However, that wasn’t the most interesting fact of the otherwise forgettable night. More fascinating is the fact, that Jackiewicz fought thrice at the same event, and boxing was just the final third of it. Before that, the Polish veteran showcased his skills in full contact kickboxing and then as the MMA competitor. Definitely a night to remember.

Tiny German Sarah Bormann (12-0, 7 KOs) defended an assortment of her light flyweight belts (including WIBF, WBF and GBU) on Saturday night in the main event of the show, which was held in Karlsruhe, Germany. It wasn’t an easy outing against fellow undefeated Finnish lady Lotta Loikkanen (6-1, 2 KOs) but at the end Bormann prevailed unanimously: 99-90, 96-94, and 96-94.
