One of the most anticipated heavyweight clashes of 2020 will finally see the light of day.

Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce rode out several delays as the pair of explosive rising heavyweights will collide Saturday evening, live on BT Sport (United Kingdom) and ESPN+ (United States) from Church House in Westminster, England. The scheduled 12-round contest was on the books throughout the year, assigned several fight dates which endured postponements due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic before finally settling on a televised slot this weekend.

Dubois (15-0, 14KOs) clocked in at a ripped and ready 244.4 pounds for his second fight since the pandemic. Joyce (11-0, 10KOs) hit the scale at a stacked 258.9 pounds, in line with his conditioning for a 12-round win over former title challenger Bryant Jennings last July.

Both boxers were afforded stay-busy affairs earlier this summer as a consolation to waiting out a confirmed fight date for their eagerly awaited clash. Neither stuck around very long in their respective bouts, registering early knockouts in blowout affairs.

Joyce was first to the ring in 2020. The 2016 Olympic Silver medalist from Putney, London enjoyed a stay-busy fight this past July, scoring a 3rd round knockout of Germany’s Michael Wallisch.

One month later, Dubois took care of business in equally emphatic fashion. The 23-year old contender from Greenwich, England came out of a five-knockout Prospect of the Year-level campaign in 2019 with a 2nd round knockout of Ricardo Snijders this past August in East London.

Also on the show, unbeaten junior welterweight contender Jack Catterall (25-0, 13KOs) aims to mark time ahead of his waited title shot as he faces Tunisia’s Abderrazak Houya (14-2, 2KOs) in a 10-round contest.

Catterall weighed 143.2 pounds for his first fight in just over a year, while waiting out a due title shot versus unified 140-pound titlist Josh Taylor. Houya checked in at 141.6 pound.

Promising junior middleweight prospect Hamzah Sheeraz (11-0, 7KOs) carries a five-fight win streak into his next bout, as the 21-year old from Ilford, England faces Guido Nicolas Pitto (26-7-2, 8KOs) in a 10-round regional title fight.

Sheeraz hit the scale at a shredded 153.6 pounds gracing his 6’1” frame. Pitto—a 33-year old journeyman from Barcelona, Spain by way of Buenos Aires, Argentina?entered at a fighting fit 152.6 pounds.
