Russian cruiserweight puncher Dmitry Kudryashov will not make his mixed martial arts debut as planned, this coming weekend, due to injury.

He plans to recover from an injury and make his MMA debut before the end of this year, according to information from his promoter, World of Boxing.

In a professional boxing ring, ex-WBC Silver champion racked up 23 victories with three failures. In his last fight in June in Yekaterinburg, Kudryashov suffered a crushing loss to Ilunga Makabu from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In September, Kudryashov told RIA Novosti that in October he planned to take part in a fight under the rules of MMA at the planned Fight Nights card.

But it has been confirmed that Kudryashov broke his nose during preparation for the planned fight.

“Kudryashov’s debut match in MMA was scheduled to be held on October 12 in Moscow. The fight will not take place due to Dmitry’s injury. Nevertheless, the athlete plans to hold the fight no later than the end of the year,” his promoter stated.

According to Kudryashov, he has no intention of walking away from boxing. He wants to continue his career in boxing, while at the same time testing the waters in the world of MMA.
