Dina Thorslund has once again made it clear what she wants next after becoming WBO bantamweight champion – a unification against WBA champion Shannon Courtenay.

Thorslund (16-0, 6 KOs) became a two-weight world champion last weekend when she defeated Jasseth Noriega at the Struer Arena in Denmark, with a belt at 118lbs going alongside her super-bantamweight crown.

The Danish star was vocal before the fight that she wanted a clash with Courtenay next, and following the victory over Noriega, she’s again called her out for a showdown.

Thorslund said: “I was really happy with my efforts and my victory for the WBO bantamweight title, and I am very excited about what the future brings.

“My wish is for a unification against Shannon Courtenay, but I think she doesn’t want the fight. I’d even be more than ready to move up in weight and face Hyun Mi Choi for her world title.

“Matchroom have a lot of the female world champions and there are some huge potential fights out there, so if Shannon Courtenay doesn’t dare to box against anybody who strikes back, then give me Choi. I’m ready for anyone.”
