Golden Boy Promotions founder Oscar de la Hoya was serious when he promised to go all in for the upcoming 'L.A. Fight Club' series.

The inaugural show under the refreshed format will be play before a sold-out crowd this Friday, March 6 at Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Headlining the show, rising unbeaten prospect Joseph Diaz Jr. takes on Mexico's Juan Luis Herandez in a scheduled 10-round junior featherweight clash.

Both fighters were on point during Thursday's weigh-in. Diaz (14-0, 9KOs) tipped the scales at a ripped and ready 124 lbs, while Hernandez (17-4-1, 9KOs) came in at a lean 122.6 lbs.

The bout will air live on Fox Sports 1.

Diaz has been a SoCal favorite dating back to his amateur days, a run capped by his appearing on the U.S. Olympic Boxing team during the 2012 London Olympics. The male squad was shut out at the medal table, but plenty of talent has surfaced in the pro ranks, the baby-faced Diaz chief among them.

The 22-year old junior featherweight is coming off of a 10-round decision win over Jose Angel Beranza last December.

Hernandez endures a quick ring turnaround, coming off of a 10-round points loss to unbeaten Top 10 junior featherweight Genesis Servania. The bout took place on the road in Philippines, marking Hernandez' second straight fight in hostile territory after having spent his career exclusively in Mexico.

Also on the telecast: Christian Gonzalez (8-0, 8KOs) faces Julio Cesar Sarinana (3-2-1, 0KOs); and Santiago Guevara (8-0, 3KOs) opens the telecast versus Carlos Morales in a six-round clash of L.A.-based junior lightweights.

The series will carry the same spirit as Golden Boy Promotions' previous 'Fight Night Club' series, which was a cult favorite during its run on Fox Sports earlier this decade. The revamped series will carry more competitive matchups than its predecessor, which focused more on relatively new fighters rather than prospects looking to transition to title contention.
