Golden Boy Fight Night is back.

The mid-week series makes its long-awaited return this Thursday, with a five-fight show airing live on DAZN from Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. Headlining the show, Joel Diaz Jr. of Palmdale, California faces San Diego’s Mercito Gesta in a scheduled ten-round lightweight contest.

Diaz (26-2, 22 KOs) checked in at 134.6 pounds for his first fight in the United States in more than three years. The 30-year-old has won two straight in Mexico versus sub .500 opposition following a third-round knockout loss to Cristian Coria on a February 2019 show in Fresno, California.

Gesta (32-3-3, 17KOs) was 134.8 pounds for his first fight anywhere in the world since the pandemic. The former two-time title challenger has been out of the ring since a six-round technical draw with Carlos Morales in a November 2019 lightweight battle in Los Angeles, coming eight months after suffering an upset points loss to Juan Antonio Rodriguez in March 2019.

The last win for the Filipino southpaw came in a ten-round majority decision over Robert Manzanarez in June 2018, five months after Gesta came up short in a January 2018 challenge of then WBA-lightweight titlist Jorge Linares.

Also on the show, Covina, California’s Jousce Gonzalez (11-0-1, 10KOs) faces Jairo Lopez (26-14, 17KOs) of Apodaca, Mexico in a scheduled eight-round lightweight contest.

Gonzalez—the younger brother of former two-time featherweight title challenger Joet Gonzalez—weighed 134.4 pounds for the evening’s co-feature. Lopez weighed 133.2 pounds in hopes of snapping a three-fight skid.

Below are the weights for the rest of the show, which airs live on DAZN beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT.

Manuel Flores (11-0, 8KOs), Coachella, California, 119.4 pounds vs. Victor Ruiz (23-12, 16KOs), Tijuana, 119.6 pounds—8 rounds, bantamweight

Jan Salvatierra (7-1, 3KOs), Los Cabos, Mexico, 111.6 pounds vs. Ernie Marquez (10-17-2, 3KOs), Fort Morgan, Colorado, 110.8 pounds—6 rounds, flyweight
