BoxingScene.com has been advised that Devon Alexander (27-6-1) will snap a two-year ring hiatus when he faces Lucas Santamaria (11-2-1) on July 31st at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.  The fight will be televised by FS1.

As previously reported by BoxingScene.com’s Jake Donovan, the main card on FOX will feature Michael Polite Coffie against Gerald Washington in a heavyweight showdown and the Vito Mielnicki Jr.-James Martin rematch. Mielnicki, an u and coming welterweight prospect, suffered an upset loss against Martin on April 17th in Los Angeles in a bout that was also televised by FOX.

The 33-year-old Alexander was stopped by Ivan Redkach in his last fight, which took place on June 1st, 2019. He is 0-2-1 in his past three fights.

Alexander, who is from St. Louis, MO, unified titles at super lightweight and also captured a title at welterweight. His best win as a pro came against Marcos Maidana in 2012. He won his first title when he stopped Junior Witter in 2009.

Santamaria burst on the scene last year when he upset a then 22-1 Mykal Fox in a Premier Boxing Champions event. The Garden Grove, Calif. native lost a unanimous decision to unbeaten prospect Paul Kroll in his most recent bout.
