Salt Lake City, Utah – Detroy “The Destroyer” Jones improved to 2-0 (2 KOs) with a third round TKO of their scheduled four-round Heavyweight bout over Nabil Lalaoua. The Heavyweight bout, which was the highlight of the undercard, was part of a Pro-Am show from the Hellenic Memorial Cultural Center Friday night.

The first round was a feel out round for both fighters. Jones was in unfamiliar territory as he was the smaller man for the first time during his brief professional career. Lalaoua stands nearly 6’ 10” tall! Jones was able to land several jabs and body shots as the round ended.

As the second round began, Jones came out very aggressive, attacking the close to seven foot giant with a snappy jab followed by several hard body shots, causing Lalaoua into holding as he attempted to avoid Jones’ onslaught. Detroy was able to land several body shots to force Lalaoua to let go and move the fight into a toe-to-toe situation.

Taking advantage of having both hands free, Jones landed several hard jabs, setting up a devastating right that sent Nabil Lalaoua to the canvas. He was up by the count of ten as the round ended.

With his eye nearly closed and still feeling the effects of “The Destroyer’s” right hand, Nabil Lalaoua was forced to quit on his stool as the bell rang for the start of the third round.

Detroy “The Destroyer” Jones officially recorded a third round TKO and improves to 2-0 (2 KOs) while Nabil Lalaoua drops to 0-2.

Jones’ Promoter, Bill Calogero of TheDailySports.com Boxing Promotions said, “This was a good fight for Detroy. He has been working hard for a few months and we look to get him back into the ring within the next few weeks. Hopefully, we can have him return to Utah for a show that is scheduled next month.”
