According to the Argumenty media agency, the next opponent of reigning WBA cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev (25-2, 19 KOs) can very well be undefeated Pole Pawel Kolodziej (33-0, 18 KOs). The same source also states that both parties are presently in negotiations, which – if successful – can lead to a fight being arranged in Moscow later in the fall.

Lebedev was previously scheduled to collide with a Panamanian veteran Guillermo Jones on April 25 also in Moscow, but that fight was called off literally minutes before the opening bell after Jones sample “A” drug test was found to be positive on furosemide.

Pawel “Harnas” Kolodziej, 33, is rated #1 by the WBA, #2 by the IBF and #6 by the WBO. He fought most of his fights at home against average opposition, the Lebedev clash being a huge step up in class for the lanky (6’4’’) Pole.
