Rising heavyweight prospect Umut Camkiran (9-0), Rio Olympian Ali Eren Demirezen (7-0) and former top amateur world champion Gulsum Tatar (2-0) were victorious over their opponents and sent the local fans home happy during Birol Topuz’s boxing night in Istanbul, Turkey.

Camkiran knocked out his Bosnian opponent, 44 year old veteran Goran Delic (31-3), to register his ninth knockout in his nine fight. Camkiran also won the WBC Mediterranean title with this bout. WBC Vice-President Houcine Houichi watched the fight from ringside as the supervisor.

Camkiran’s manager Birol Topuz said afterwards - “We will reach the higher level, step by step, there is no rush in our world. Camkiran has an entertaining style. He is knockout machine, you'll have fun if you watch him.”

Demirezen defeated experienced and former commonwealth heavyweight champion Michael Sprott (42-28) of the UK by TKO.

Sprott has impressive names in his record, which spans a very long career. He fought and lost to Anthony Joshua, Kubrat Pulev, Corrie Sanders, Christian Hammer and several others. But he did secure wins against Danny Williams and Audley Harrison.

Ali Eren is famous in the courty for his sensational knockout over future Olympic gold medal winner and hot prospect Tony Yoka in amateurs. Eren had a notable amateur career with his fights against Cammarelle, Joe Joyce and Yoka.

Tatar showed off her skills against Svitlana Vaskevych. The 32 year old Tatar stopped her rival with few issues. Tatar was the biggest amateur rival of current world champion Katie Taylor of Ireland. They both beat each other in several fights. Taylor and Tatar may eventually share the same ring again in the pro ranks

Turkish amateur crusierweight champion Seyda Keser also made his pro debut on the same night and won easily.

Yavuz Erturk (24-1) won by points over Nikoloz Kokashvili. The Turkish super featherweight was in the top ten rankings under the WBO for a while and now makes a solid return.
