DeMarcus 'Chop Chop' Corley won a hard-fought 10 round unanimous decision over Vivian Harris late Saturday night at the Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Corley improves to 49-28-1, with 28 KOs, while Harris drops to 32-12-1, with 19 KOs.

The welterweight clash was a battle between former world junior welterweight titleholders. Harris dropped Corley in the opening round, but the southpaw Corley got himself back in the fight by outboxing Harris over the next several rounds.

Corley dropped Harris in the seventh round, but rather than go in for the kill, was content to outbox Harris the rest of the way.

Scores were 94-93, 94-93, and 95-92 in favor of Corley, although some at ringside thought Corley should have won by wider scores.

"We're looking to fight anyone between 135 and 140 pounds," said Sporty Smith, who manages Corley. "We want to fight Henry Lundy, because he always says he's looking for a challenge. We've approached his promoter (Jimmy Burchfield) and his people and they're up for the fight. Lundy doesn't want the fight."

Junior bantamweight Dewayne Beamon knocked out late-sub Jonathan Aguilar (18-6, with 16 KOs) at 2:55 of the second round.

Beamon (11-0, with 8 KOs), who also promoted the Stop Running Promotions/Cy Nation Sports card, has now knocked out his last five opponents.

Word is Beamon will return to the ring sometime in September.

Lightweight Maynard Allison won an eight round unanimous decision over Eric Hernandez (9-1, with 5 KOs). All three judges scored the bout 79-73 in favor of Allison, who improves to 8-1, with 5 KOs.
