Duran Hill and Sting Like A Bee Entertainment brought Colorado fight fans a solid 10 round main event which saw Manuel ‘Manos’ Perez use a relentless body attack to wear DeMarcus ‘Chop-Chop’ Corley down and make him quit on his stool between the sixth and seventh rounds. Much to the delight of the hometown fans who took the action in from the parking lot of PT’s Showclub in Denver, Colorado.

Perez started quick and never let up. He landed a heavy right hand that stunned Corley in the first, gaining some respect and winning the round. In the second Perez began concentrating his attack to the 40 year old body of Corley with good results. Referee Stephen Blea warned Perez for low blows on a few occasions with some landing on the belt line and some below. Perez rocked Corley back on his heels late in the round to solidify a 2-0 lead on the scorecards. The third saw more of the same with Perez continuing his body attack and straight right hands. Corley fought in spots and landed some nice uppercuts but not enough to win the round.

Corley seemed to loosen up in the fourth as he let his hands go in combination and had his best round of the fight. Perez kept at the body but Corley outworked and outlanded him to win his first round. The fourth was close but Perez started to find a home for his right hand and even cut Corley under the right eye. Corley looks to be fading in the fifth as he is throwing one punch at a time and looking for a fight changer. Perez keeps his workman like effort up and is starting to take control of the fight.

Perez lands big shots to both the body and head in the sixth, some straying low. While trapped on the ropes Corley decides to look to the referee to complain. Perez pays it no mind and keeps ripping shots to the body. Corley looks drained by the end of the round as he finds his way back to the corner to listen to advice from Jeff Mayweather.

As the seventh round is about to start Corley calls off the fight saying “Came up short tonight at the six round it was hard for me to breathe. I made the decision to stop the fight it was just too hard for me to breathe outside.”

Perez gets the win moving his ledger to 23-11-1, 5KOs while Corley drops his 42-23-1, 25KOs.

Corley had said he wanted to fight Mickey Bey after he disposed of Perez. When asking Perez about Bey, after disposing of Corley, he said emphatically “Anyone at 135. This is my weight and I’m staying here. I’ll fight anyone.”
