Staples Center, Los Angeles - Following Chad Dawson's controversial two round stoppage of Bernard Hopkins, the new WBC light heavyweight champion traded words at the post fight press conference with Jean Pascal, who flew in from Canada to watch the fight live.

In 2010, Dawson (31-1, 18KOs) lost his title and his undefeated record to Pascal (26-2, 16 KOs). Pascal built a solid lead in their fight, but Dawson was coming on strong in the eleventh round - and he had Pascal in a lot of trouble. As Dawson was punishing Pascal, the referee stopped the action in order to have Dawson's cut checked out by a ringside physician. Earlier in the fight, Dawson suffered a cut above his eye from an accidental clash of heads. When it was ruled the cut was too severe, the fight went to the scorecards and Pascal won a technical decision.

Dawson, who wants nothing more than to face Pascal in a rematch, started the fireworks early at the presser. Dawson promised Pascal that he would win the rematch with a knockout.

"You can say what you want, but you were about to get done. I'm going to finish you off in the rematch brother. Trust me. You lost to 46-year-old man, twice. You were out on your feet brother. Sit down, you got lucky [against me]. Sit down with your tight pants. This time we're going to do it in the U.S., and we'll see what happens," Dawson shouted in Pascal's direction.
