Promoter Cedric Kushner has been unable to get in contact with his own boxer, David Tua, according to TVZN. Kushner was clearly frustrated with the outcome of Tua's recent rematch with Monte Barrett. Tua lost a twelve round unanimous decision. The loss cost Tua a potential fight with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. Klitschko's United States adviser Shelly Finkel confirmed that there would have been discussions if Tua was victorious.

"It's a very significant loss, because there was an opportunity to fight Klitschko," Kushner said. "I phoned his lawyer and said hey there's an opportunity here to fight Klitschko and I need some quick responses. There was the opportunity to make a lot of money for Dave and from my side to recoup a substantial portion of the money I've invested."

Sources indicate that Kushner has been unable to reach Tua for some time. Kushner had a scheduled meeting with Tua last Sunday in New Zealand, but the fighter stood him up and avoided calls. Kushner flew back to the United States without speaking to the boxer.
