EL PASO, TX – On Friday, September 2nd, undefeated Heavyweight Contender David “El Nino” Rodriguez (35-0, 33 KOs) will officially announce that his third fight this year will take place in his home town of El Paso, TX.

The heavy handed fighter was last seen on June 24th at the Don Haskins Center, taking out former WBA heavyweight title holder Owen Beck in dramatic and spectacular fashion with a devastating 3rd round knock-out.

Rodriguez looks to capture the imagination of the boxing world once again with another winning KO performance at El Paso’s home for America’s pastime, Cohen Stadium on Saturday, October 15th.

Just like Joe Louis vs. Jersey Joe Walcott at the old Yankee Stadium in 1948, “The Battle at the Ballpark” will renew a long standing American tradition of great heavyweight fights under the lights of an outdoor baseball stadium.

Batting in the clean-up spot, David plans on improving his already impressive KO percentage of (.943) as well as continuing his undefeated streak of 35 consecutive victories without a single blemish on his professional record.

By stopping Beck on June 24th, Rodriguez became the WBC FECOMBOX titleholder and solidified his claim as a legitimate heavyweight contender.

Now “El Nino” looks forward to making another championship statement in the heavyweight division.

“I can’t wait to get back into the ring,” states the 33 year old Heavyweight contender.  “I look forward to putting on another knock-out performance in front of my home town fans and moving another step closer to achieving my ultimate goal of becoming the next great American Heavyweight Champion.”

So plan on buying your tickets along with your peanuts and Cracker Jacks, because “El Nino” will “Go Yard” on October 15th at “The Battle at the Ballpark”!!

“Battle at the Ballpark” is presented by Speaking Rock Casino and Zeferino Entertainment. This will be the first installment of a  Multi-date agreement executed between both parties to bring Professional Boxing back to the Cohen Stadium in El Paso Texas.
