Olympic bronze medal winner David Price (22-5, 18 KOs) is looking to bounce back after last Saturday's vicious defeat at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

Before a crowd of nearly 80,000 fans, Price was brutally knocked out in five rounds at the hands of Alexander Povetkin, a former WBA champion and Olympic gold medal winner.

The fight was the co-featured attraction to the heavyweight unification between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker.

Price had gone down hard in the fourth round, but managed to bounce back by scoring a knockdown of his own in the same round.

But during the fifth, Povetkin crack him right on the chin and had him out on his feet - before coming back with sensational hook that put Price down and out. The fight was quickly waved off by the referee.

Price was taken to the hospital afterwards. He reveals that his nose was broken in the contest, there were 30 stitches required to close cuts in his mouth and 12 more stitches to close cuts around his eyes.

“After the fight I got checked over in the medical room at the stadium, and they said it would be better to just go to hospital. I agreed, to be safe, and they gave me the all-clear," Price revealed to Talk Sport.

“I had a fractured nose, had 30 stitches in my mouth and about 12 stitches on my eyes. It was a rough night! I’m proud of my performance. I gave everything I had to give and I came close, closer than the knockout made it look.”

The contest marked the fifth defeat in Price's career and all five of those losses have come by knockout. He was stopped twice by Tony Thompson, then by Erkan Teper and also by Christian Hammer. Thompson tested positive for a banned substance in the aftermath of the rematch, but the outcome was never changed. Teper tested positive for numerous banned substances in the aftermath of his win over Price, and the official result of that bout was also kept in place.
