After a 2-year hiatus, former welterweight contender “King” David Estrada (25-6, 16 KOs) will return to the ring to face Roberto Ventura (11-7, 11 KOs) in an eight-round contest on April 26th at Cicero Stadium located just outside of Chicago, Illinois. Estrada vs. Ventura will headline International Rumble III presented by Sammy Merza Promotions (smpboxing.com).

A native of Chicago, Estrada has been in the ring with some of the sports best names such as Shane Mosley, Kermit Cintron, and Andre Berto as well as Jesus Soto Karass and Luis Abregu. In April of 2010, Estrada stopped then-undefeated Orlando Lora in eight rounds on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights. Later that year, in December of ’10, Estrada knocked out Franklin Gonzalez during the fifth round in front of local fans at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago.

Finally, Estrada is back and will take on a hard-hitting opponent in Ventura.

Ventura’s six-fight win streak was broken in January when he was stopped in the final round against Francisco Javier Reza. Now Ventura looks to start another winning streak by doing what he knows best, and that’s knocking people out.

Also on the card, undefeated super middleweight Mike Gavronski (11-0-1, 8 KOs), heavyweight Ricardo Chavez (4-0, 3 KOs) and junior welterweight Ed Brown (2-0, 2 KOs) are scheduled for separate bouts.

Cicero Stadium is at 1909 S. Laramie in Cicero, IL. Doors open at 7PM and the first bout is at 8PM. General Admission is $30, ringside is $50, and VIP ringside is $75-$100. VIP Gold is $200.
