David Brophy scored a stoppage win as he boxed for the first time in 11 months.

The former Commonwealth super-middleweight champion has been out of action with an eye injury.

But Brophy got back to winning ways with a comprehensive beatdown of Norbert Szekeres at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.

The MTK-promoted 28-year-old got an early finish in his six-round contest, exclusively live on BoxNation, as part of MTK Global’s 12-fight night output deal with the broadcaster.

‘Brophs’, a former George Groves victim whose last action was a one-round blowout loss at the hands of current WBA ‘regular’ super-middleweight world champion Rocky Fielding, had his ledger advanced after 33 seconds of the penultimate round as the referee stepped in, ruling that the 32-year-old Hungarian was in no position to continue.

Meanwhile, Stephen Ormond survived a knockdown in the eighth of 10 scheduled rounds against his managerial stablemate to add another win to his ledger.

The Dublin lightweight took on Georgie Ashie of Ghana, but he managed to avenge the knockdown a round later before coming out on top with a 95-94 verdict.

David Oliver Joyce took out some frustration en-route to claiming another win.

The 31-year-old had been set to challenge for a title on Saturday, exclusively live on BoxNation.

Joyce was meant to challenge Ronnie Clark for his IBF European super-featherweight title, but the Dundee-based former British title challenger, leaving the 2016 Olympian disappointed.

But he put that emotion behind him and controlled proceedings from beginning to end against Arturo Lopez at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.

And the 22-year-old, who hadn’t thrown anything back for a solid minute, was stopped on his feet by the referee after one minute and 23 seconds of the sixth round.

In defeat, the visitor slipped to 5-5-3, while Joyce will be looking to be given another date as soon as possible in a bid to combat his inactivity, having been out of the ring since April at the SSE Arena in Belfast, as part of the BT Sport-aired card topped by Carl Frampton’s victory over Nonito Donaire.

Meanwhile, after 61 seconds of the first round in the live float contest on the card, the referee reached his 10-count as Stephen Tiffney got an early finish against Johnson Tellez.

Darragh Foley retained his WBA Oceania title -- but it was an unsatisfactory end to the fight.

The New South Wales super-lightweight took on Chris Jenkins.

The fight was heating up nicely, exclusively live on BoxNation, before a head clash caused a cut to the right eye of Jenkins.

At the end of the third and into the beginning of the fourth, the referee, on the advice of the doctor and the corner of Welshman Jenkins, stopped the fight, meaning that it ended in a technical draw and that the holder kept his belt.

Afterwards, both fighters shook hands and talk immediately turned to a rematch, but Jenkins will want to recover from the injury suffered to his eye before thinking about a return to action.
