MGM Grand, Las Vegas - In the evening’s best non-televised undercard fight on the Marquez-Casamayor undercard, Indonesian Daud Yordan made his first bout in America one to remember, with a hard fought 78-74, 78-74, 76-76 majority decision over Mexico’s tough Antonio Meza in an eight round featherweight bout.

Yordan had a nice opening round, landing a couple of nice hard rights over slow jabs from Meza. It was evident early on the 21 year old had the clear speed and physical advantages over the Sonora, Mexico native.

The Indonesian started of the 2nd round in the same manner, but then Meza switched to a southpaw stance and continuously let his hands go, surprising Yordan with his tenacity to win the round.

Meza surprisingly started the 3rd round in an orthodox stance and Yordan took over again, landing his nice straight right hands before Meza wisely went back to southpaw to give his opponent trouble with nice right hooks and uppercuts.

Yordan got more comfortable with Meza’s southpaw stance and found the range with a couple of right hands to start the 4th round. Meza (24-5-1, 16KO) continued his relentless attack for the remainder of the bout, at times landing excellent combos, drawing cheers from the sparse, pro-Mexican crowd in attendance , but Meza has to absorb plenty of punches to land his own while remaining competitive.

Yordan was able to move and get himself out of any trouble when needed and started landing harder shots as the bout went on, as he figured out his experienced opponent. In passing what was likely his toughest test to date, Yordan remains undefeated at 23-0(16KO).

Prospects Daniel Jacobs and Danny Garcia punch out very early.

Brooklyn super middleweight prospect Daniel Jacobs kept his undefeated record and knockout streak intact with a 57 second drubbing of overmatched Ramon Espinosa. The Guasave, Mexico native hardly looked like he wanted to fight and went down rather easily in falling to 10-8 (4KO). Jacobs improves to an impressive 9-0 (9KO) with 7 of his fights ending in the first round, but clearly needs to upgrade his opposition.

Exciting Philadelphia welterweight prospect Danny “Swift” Garcia only needed 1:04 to overwhelm Tennessee native Tyrone Wiggins. Garcia, in improving to 7-0 (6KO) seemingly took a step backwards in competition as Wiggins was knocked out for the 17th time in 23 losses, with only 9 wins. Look for Garcia to also have a tougher test in his next bout.

In other non-televised undercard action, Puerto Rico’s Carlos Velasquez kept his undefeated record (9-0, 8KO) intact with a 5th round TKO of another overmatched fighter in Mexico City native Jose Navarrete (13-18, 6KO).
