Big punching 27-year old Jr. Middleweight prospect Daniel Rosario (11-1, 10 KO) of Puerto Rico continued to rebound from an early decision loss with his third straight knockout win on Friday night in the main event at the Kissimmee Civic Center in Kissimmee, Florida, dropping 21-year old Aaron Garcia (14-4, 10 KO) of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, twice in round two to force a stoppage. It was Garcia’s second stoppage loss and halt a nine-fight win streak.

Rosario weighed in at the division limit of 154 lbs. while Garcia came in at 153. The referee was Frank Santore Jr.

It took little time for the heavy-handed Rosario to get Garcia into trouble but the younger man showed some real guts in keeping his feet throughout the first round. Rocked badly and appearing destined for the floor, Garcia would eat monster shots and then flail back to steady himself and keep Rosario honest. The crowd appreciated the show of bravery.

Garcia forgot his mouthpiece to start the second, an accident that meant a few extra seconds of recovery. Stepping into the power of Rosario, Garcia pressed the early going and landed some clean shots for the effort. He did more than that as the round wore on, backing Rosario to the ropes. It didn’t last, Rosario timing Garcia with a nasty counter and dumping him on his back. Garcia beat the count but was in trouble and Rosario quickly deposited him to the floor again as Santore stepped in to stop the fight. The official time of the stoppage was not announced.

In a spirited Jr. Featherweight fight that saw both men cut over the right eye in the first round, 23-year old Alex Roman (3-1), 122, of Kissimmee, Florida, scored a unanimous decision in four rounds over a game Edgardo Marin (1-5-1), 121, of Humacao, Puerto Rico.

The card was broadcast in the US on Telemundo, promoted by Tuto Zabala Jr. and All Star Boxing.
