Kissimmee, Florida -  David “Severo” Carmona (20-5, 8 KOs) has continued his run of bad luck.

On Thursday, he was unable to make the contract weight for a scheduled bout with Jose Martinez and came in four pounds overweight.

Martinez, 24, who hails from Las Marias, Puerto Rico with a record of  19-0-1-12 KO's - rejected the idea of facing Carmona at a higher weight and withdrew from the fight.

In came Daniel “Alacrán” Lozano (14-4, 11 KOs), who took the fight on 24 hours notice at the Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee.

Lozano was scheduled to fight Wednesday night in the Dominican Republic but his fight fell out and he was in shape and ready to take on the challenge.

Carmona likely felt safe, since three fights ago he won a unanimous decision over Lozano at 115-pounds.

This time they fought at the super bantamweight limit of 122-pounds.

In a stunner, Lozano drilled Carmona in the second round to get a stoppage win after two knockdowns were scored.

Coming into this fight - Carmona, 26 years old, was ranked at #11 by the WBA and #15 by the WBO and WBC. And earlier this year he lost a hard fought decision to former world champion Carlos Cuadras on the Gennady Golovkin-Daniel Jacobs undercard in March.
