Highly rated prospect Daniel Dubois lived up to his “Dynamite” moniker as he stopped Marcus Kelly in just 35 seconds to kickstart his professional career and kickoff BT Sport’s first foray into the sport at the Manchester Arena.

Dubois, who turned his back on the unpaid code to sign with promoter Frank Warren, towered over his opponent, Kelly. The two couldn’t look more different as they faced off for referee Lee Innes’ pre-fight instructions, with Dubois with muscles on top of muscles, whilst Kelly looked like he had been preparing in the bar.

Kelly, who won his only other fight last July, came out swinging, however a swift left hand from the 19-year-old Londoner sent him flying back to the neutral corner, before Dubois rained in a barrage of body blows to send him down. Kelly was up at 9, but the referee saved him from more punishment.

Dubois, will continue his progress on the 20th May at the Copper Box in his hometown, as part of the undercard to Liam Walsh’s challenge for the IBF super-featherweight title against Gervonta Davis.

It’s safe to say that stiffer and more solid tests await Dubois in the coming months, who has stated his intention to become the youngest British heavyweight world champion of all time.

Meanwhile, Mason Cartwright took just over a minute to get rid of Sam Omidi with a devastating display.
