Light-heavyweight ace Damien "Super" Hooper has vowed to make Joel Casey eat his words when they clash at the Jupiter's Hotel and Casino in Broadbeach, Queensland.

The fight, dubbed by some as the Australian grudge match of the year, was made following Casey calling out the 2012 Olympian on social media.

And now Hooper intends on showing fans that sometimes a fighter's mouth can land them in a whole world of trouble.

"I can't wait to fight this guy. He has disrespected me and he's landed himself the fight. I'll use my boxing skills to pick him apart and get the win," Hooper said.

"I hate to say anything bad about my opponents because it takes a lot of guts to get in that ring, but afterwards I'm sure Casey will realise he talked his way into a fight with the wrong guy.

"I really want to thank my trainer Gareth Williams for getting me in such great shape, my management team and of course Ricky Hatton, the legend. With him promoting me, the sky is the limit."

Matt Clark, Hooper's co-manager, added: "This is a fight that fight fans have been looking forward to. Joel Casey is a tough, durable guy who will fight anyone. He was world ranked at one point so he's a good test for Damien.

"It's another southpaw for Hoops, he's fought plenty of southpaws already in his short pro career. I'm thinking fight fans are going to see a complete performance from him on Wednesday night on Fox Sports."
