Curtis Woodhouse returned to boxing after a lengthy hiatus and got his hand raised at the end.

The former British super-lightweight champion was in action at the Doncaster Dome, on the undercard of the vacant Central Area super-featherweight title clash between Maxi Hughes and Ryan Moorhead, against Arvydas Trizno.

It was scheduled for six rounds and went the distance, with Woodhouse having to deal with some early pressure from his counterpart.

However, he soon took the centre of the ring and controlled the fight, before being handed the decision by referee John Latham by a margin of 58 points to 56.

Earlier in the card, Jordan Gill began his relationship with new coach Dave Coldwell in great fashion.

Gill, whose partnership with former fighter Coldwell was only revealed earlier this week, was under zero pressure against Jordan Ellison and dropped his man three times –– twice in the first and once in the second –– to record a stoppage victory and move to 17-0 with four early.

In defeat, the usually game and durable Ellison slipped to 7-12.

Craig Glover impressed en-route to a two-round demolition of Mitch Mitchell.

The Liverpudlian, who was set to fight him over four in preparation for his fight at the ECHO Arena in Liverpool on September 30, was dominant from the opening bell, landing at will before referee John Latham had seen enough and called a halt to the contest after two minutes and 43 seconds of the second stanza.

And Anthony Tomlinson won every round against the game an unmovable Simas Volosinas over four, while Tom Bell won every round of six against Dmitrijs Gutmans.

But there was deep disappointment for Glover’s fellow Scouser Jay Carney, who shared just one round of six against reigning Commonwealth featherweight champion Jason Cunningham.
