Conrad Cummings (11-1-1, 5 KOs) says he will take his time when making his next career move after parting ways with Cyclone Promotions.

The Northern Irish middleweight issued a statement on Wednesday (September 27) to confirm that, like his friend and former two-weight world champion Carl Frampton, he had ended his association with Cyclone which included severing ties with his manager Barry McGuigan and trainer Shane McGuigan.

The news came hot on the heels of Frampton bringing in MTK Global in an advisory role, before hooking up with Frank Warren in a promotional deal. Frampton's first fight for Warren, to be screened live on BT Sports, takes place at the SSE Arena, Belfast on November 18 with an opponent still to be announced.

Speaking to David Kelly in the Sunday Life over the weekend, Cummings said he will also be turning to Frampton to help him make the right move.

"I've already had a lot of interest," said Cummings.

"Since I made my statement there has been quite a few interested parties but I will be taking my time in making the decision because it has to be the right move.

"I'm at a very important part of my career, I'm ranked highly in the WBO (13) so I need someone who can guide me to a shot at the WBO World title. Ideally I would like to fight before Christmas because I haven't fought since March and the bills don't stop never mind needing to stay sharp."

Cummings said he feels fortunate to have Frampton as a friend.

"He has always been there for me throughout my career. He has given me advice up to now and never been far wrong so I'm sure he can help me make the right move now."
