This opportunity that Jack Culcay (19-1, 10 KOs) has worked for: On May 9, the 2009 amateur boxing world champion will go for a world title in the pros! He goes for the interim version of the World Boxing Association's junior middleweight title against Maurice Weaver (21-1, 8 KOs). The fight takes place on undercard of Felix Sturm's showdown with Fedor Chudinov.

Jack Culcay looking forward to the big opportunity: "This is the next big step for me. By winning the world title, I want to show that I'm ready for the big guns in junior middleweight!

The world title fight on May 9 will also simultaneously be the first test of the vehicle combination Culcay / Wegner. It was not until the end of January that the 28-year-old Culcay added trainer 72-year-old Ulli Wegner.

Wegner jokes: "I have made less talented boxers champions. Jack is a true diamond in the rough with his skills, which must only be properly grounded."

Wegner is safe. So far, Wegner has made six of his proteges world champions. Wegner:

"In Frankfurt, Culcay will be my seventh masterpiece!"

Kalle Sauerland agrees with Wegner: "On May 9th, Golden Jack will be in all his glory and win the title. The audience in Frankfurt can look forward to an exciting fight with Maurice Weber!"
