Unbeaten super flyweight titlist Carlos Cuadras will make his stateside debut, as his mandatory title defense versus Sonny Boy Jaro is heading to Washington D.C.

The bout is slated to take place on November 13—a Thursday evening—at a yet-to-be-announced venue in the nation's capital.

"It's been a big year for 'Principe' and the time is right to bring his talents to the United States," noted Oswaldo Küchle of Promociones del Pueblo, Cuadras' promoter. "We have big things in store for his career; this is just the start of our international plan for the champ."

Cuadras (30-0-1, 24KOs) will make the second defense of the title he claimed this past May in a cut-shortened decision win over Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. The unbeaten Mexican puncher was in control but very much in a fight with the defending champ, when a headbutt left him with a grotesque cut over his left eye, thus prompting the stoppage.

His first defense also ended on a cut, this time suffered by his opponent as Jose Salgado was forced to quit towards the end of the 4th round of their clash in September. Cuadras was pitching a shutout on all three cards, but was forced to settle for a technical draw since the fight did not reach four full rounds.

Jaro (37-13-5, 27KOs) enters having won three straight, all of which has taken place in his native Philippines. The upcoming title fight will also mark his first fight in the United States, though having traveled elsewhere throughout the world over the course of his 13-year career.

The diminutive journeyman became the unlikeliest of world champions, scoring a major upset over Pongsaklek Wonjongkam in March '12 to win the World lineal flyweight championship on the road in Thailand.

The reign was short-lived, losing his belt just four months later in his first defense, dropping a 12-round decision to Toshiyuki Igarashi in Japan.
