MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Former two division world champion Cristian Mijares (49-7-2, 24KOs) is very confident to overcome the odds later tonight, when he challenges undefeated Leo Santa Cruz (26-0-1, 15KOs) for the WBC super bantamweight title.

Last March, Mijares challenged for the same world title when he faced Victor Terrazas. He was on the losing end of a close split decision. Mijares won his two outings, by knockout. Santa Cruz captured the title last August, when he easily knocked out Terrazas in three rounds.

"This could be my last chance. I won't leave that ring without the title. I was looking at him, his eyes and his mannerisms, he knows that he's going to lose. He never faced someone with my experience. I think he realizes that he won't be able to push me around like some of the other fighters that he faced. A lot of people will be surprised [with how well I do]," Mijares said.
