It was Cristian Mijares himself who made the declaration that he'll once again fight another former world champion, Tomas "Gusano" Rojas.... and almost certainly in Veracruz.

Mijares said he's very keen to fight against Rojas as he defeated him in 2004 for the national championship in twelve rounds in Gómez Palacio, Durango.

Cristian has a professional record of 55-8-2, and 26 KO's. He debuted as a pro in 1997.

The "Worm" has a record of 48-14-1, and 32 knockouts. In 2001 he was national champion. In 2010 he was crowned as WBC world champion after his victory over Kohei Kono.

IN OTHER NEWS: One of the WBC's great heavyweight champions, Vitali Klitschko, sacrificed his ring career for the rough and tumble of politics. He's now Mayor of Kiev- one of the biggest cities in Eastern Europe.

In a speech to the WBC's 54th annual Convention, which was held at the magnificent Diplomat Resort & Spa Hotel, in Hollywood, South Florida, Vitali advised people to dream big, be ambitious, and work in converting reverie into reality.

He said during his childhood in the then Soviet Union, friends had collapsed in gales of laughter, when he promised he himself would be heavyweight champion one day.

But he promised them and walked his talk, by fulfilling his pledge, inspired by the great Muhammad Ali, who faced up to as many issues as opponents, in his extraordinary lifetime.
