One of the greatest female mixed martial artists in history is now unbeaten in the ring.

Former multi-time MMA champion Cris Cyborg enjoyed a successful pro boxing debut with a four-round, unanimous decision win over Gabby Holloway. Scores were 40-35, 39-36 and 40-34 in favor of Cyborg in the co-feature of a BLK Prime Pay-Per-View event Saturday evening at CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Cyborg was quickly able to establish her long and heavy right hand. The shot repeatedly landed on Holloway, a southpaw from Rhoadesville, Virginia who appeared overmatched from the opening bell but whose corner convinced her to pick up the pace to give herself a fair chance.

To her credit, Holloway heeded the advice the moment action resumed. An overhand left by Holloway found its way home early in round two. Cyborg took the shot well and immediately regained control as she threw and landed the more polished shots. Holloway looked to make things uncomfortable for the 37-year-old Brazilian, who landed another right hand before the bell.

Cyborg was encouraged by head trainer Jose Benavidez Sr.—the father and lead cornerman of sons Jose Jr. and David Benavidez—to pick up her attack and truly go for the knockout that was there for the taking. The response came in the form of the bout’s lone knockdown, as Cyborg willed Holloway to the canvas with a series of power shots. Holloway (0-3) beat the count and spent the rest of the round staying well out of harm’s way, making it to the bell and clearly with the lone goal of going the distance with a combat sports legend.

The fourth and final round saw Cyborg constantly on the attack but unable to produce the knockout finish. She instead settled for a virtual shutout, finishing the fight by slamming home a right hand that caught Holloway on the chin.

Cyborg has claimed world titles during her stints in UFC, Strikeforce, Invicta Fighting Championships and Bellator through her incredible seventeen-year MMA career. Efforts to enter the ring saw Cyborg partake in a boxing match that was deemed an exhibition when it was learned that her opponent—former title challenger Simone Aparecida Da Silva—was still under suspension. She is now officially in the record books as 1-0 (0KOs) between the ropes.

Headlining the show, local hero and three-division champ Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford (38-0, 29KOs) defends his WBO welterweight title versus streaking contender David Avanesyan (29-3-1, 17KOs).
