Craig Glover is now three fights undefeated since a first career setback in March.

The cruiserweight lost in London earlier this year but has secured wins in Walsall and Doncaster respectively ahead of his return to his home city.

Glover came up against Ferenc Zsalek, as part of the undercard to Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing’s ‘Battle On The Mersey’ card which is topped by the WBA ‘regular’ bantamweight title eliminator showdown between Paul Butler and Stuart Hall.

Zsalek is a massively experienced Hungarian with 87 fights under his belt. He has lost more than three times as many as he has won, but has four stoppages in his last 10 fights, making out that he poses some danger to the 25-year-old.

However, that threat was extinguished after just two minutes and 56 seconds of the opener and two knockdowns after which Jamie Kirkpatrick, the third man in the ring, called a halt to proceedings.

The training team of Glover –– headed by Derry Mathews, George Vaughan and Joe McNally –– are keen to keep their charge busy and it is likely that we will see another date for the Tony Bellew-managed fighter, who recently welcomed son Sonny to the world, announced very soon.
