Former three division champion Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30KOs) has denied some of the recent comments that were published by various outlets, which most outlets attributed to him, regarding his alleged disgust with the scoring of Saturday's fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26KOs) - and that includes a post on his official Twitter page, which has now been removed.

Mayweather won by scores of 118-110, 117-111 and 117-111. Most of Cotto's team members believe the scores were far too wide, but the Puerto Rican star has yet to comment - until now.

"I am not protesting the decision of the judges and I've never been. [During my career] I accepted every one of my defeats. Throughout my career, without excuse, I assumed my role as winner or loser [and] without complaint, let alone without any protest. What was published and the expressions given in the past few days were the opinions of my team and not mine," Cotto said in a statement provided to BoxingScene.com.
