Former junior middleweight world titleholder Cornelius Bundrage will return to the ring Saturday night, co-trainer Jay Hernandez told BoxingScene.com Thursday morning.

The six round bout will take place at the Ford Community Center in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit.

It will be Bundrage’s first fight since losing the IBF 154-pound title to Jermall Charlo in September of 2015.

Bundrage (34-6, 10 KOs) won the title in his previous fight in October of 2014, outboxing Carlos Molina en route to a 12 round unanimous decision win.

Saturday night will mark the first time in almost four years the 43-year-old Bundrage will fight in his hometown of Detroit.

According to Hernandez, Bundrage is shaking off the ring-rust Saturday and is penciled to return to the ring next month, again in the Detroit area.

Gomez (20-20, 16 KOs) last fought on September 23, losing a six round unanimous decision to unbeaten Nestor Bravo. The fight with Bravo was fought at 135 pounds, so Gomez will move up at least two-three weight classes to fight Bundrage.

Also fighting on the Jaafar Promotions card will be unbeaten welterweight Bakhtiyar Eyubov. The Kazakh fighter will face Elvin Perez in a six round bout.

Eyubov (11-0, 10 KOs), who lives in Brooklyn but trains in Detroit, won a 10 round split decision over Karim Mayfield in his last bout on August 19.

Perez (28-16-4, 19 KOs), who hails from Nicaragua, has lost five of his last six bouts.

Promoter Dmitriy Salita is optimistic the hard-hitting Eyubov will fight again later this month.
