Beyond being Cuban, Orlando Cuellar is a professional and that's why he spared no effort to put together the best camp possible to prepare Panamanian boxer Ricardo "Professor" Córdoba for his fight on Saturday November 13 in Dallas, Texas against Cuban Olympic legend Guillermo Rigondeaux.

“I don't like going against a Cuban because I'm Cuban, but this (boxing) is a business and the contract I have to get the victory is with Ricardo Cordoba," Cuellar said. "I know how to beat Guillermo. Moreover, Ricardo will win by knockout in the tenth round."

Córdoba (37-2-2, 23 KOs) and Rigondeaux (6-0, 5 KOs) will fight for the interim WBA super bantamweight title.

Cuellar added that the preparation of Córdoba was technical.

"Ricardo's preparation has been intense and hard to get where we are," he said. "Ricardo had around 120 rounds of sparring with Cuban fighters with similar styles to that of Rigondeaux."

Although the experts have Rigondeaux as the betting favorite, Cuellar is confident that his pupil will get through this night.

"I have a reputation of winning with fighters who are supposed to lose and for me this is another fight where that will happen."

Cuellar pointed to the fight last Saturday when Glen Johnson broke all forecasts and beat Allan Green to get into Super Six semifinals. According to Cuellar, another point in favor of Córdoba on Rigondeaux is professional experience.

"Guillermo has only six professional fights and has not only fought with anyone dangerous. It's one thing to have a fight with big gloves and head gear for four rounds for medals and trophies (referring to amateur boxing), but this is a twelve round fight with smaller gloves and against a champion like Ricardo, "he said.

Cuellar also praised the work from Córdoba who moved to Miami to train for three months.

"What I liked is that we had chemistry. After that I knew that Richard was willing to do what I say. He knows that I train the boxers who win," he said.

Finally he said that in these remaining days before the fight, Cordoba will be working to refine his technique and strategy, and then wait for the official weigh-in on Friday and the fight on Saturday, with Manny Pacquiao facing Antonio Margarito in the main event.
