There are reports in Panama that Ricardo 'Maestrito' Cordoba has stopped communicating with promotional company Bad Dog of Miami, who represent the boxer internationally. There were negotiations for Cordoba to face WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez on April 16 in Puerto Rico.

Richard Duval, a partner in Bad Dog, has seen reports in several publications in Panama the indicate Cordoba is not going to take the fight. The boxer himself is not returning phone calls and Duval is "very puzzled" with the situation. Duval says that he went through great efforts to make the fight happen. He even secured a higher purse for Cordoba, but with each passing day the fight draws further apart.
