All involved parties did their job to ensure that Friday’s fall season premiere of Boxeo Telemundo proceeds without issue.

Featherweight spoiler Dennis ‘El Martillo’ Contreras faces unbeaten prospect Carlos Efrain ‘El Stich’ Flores in a 10-round regional title fight Friday evening at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. Both boxers made weight for their headlining act, as did all eight undercard participants.

Contreras (22-10-1, 19KOs) weighed in right at the 126-pound featherweight limit, while Tijuana’s Flores (20-0, 11KOs) came in one full pound under the contracted weight at 125 pounds.

The event comes just five weeks after Contreras managed his second straight upset victory. The 28-year old spoiler rallied to score a 5th round knockout of fringe contender Belmar Preciado atop the August 28 edition of Boxeo Telemundo, live on air from this very venue.

Flores makes his United States debut, as well as his first career fight versus an opponent with a winning record. The 19-year old featherweight fights for the first time since a 5th round knockout of Giovanni Juarez last October in Guasave, Mexico.

Miami-based Cuban featherweight Hairon Socarras weighed 130 pounds for the evening’s chief support versus Julio Buitrago, who weighed 136 pounds for their scheduled six-round junior lightweight clash.

The show also features three blue-chip pro rookies returning on site.

Bryan Polaco (2-0, 2KOs) weighed 154 pounds for a four-round junior middleweight clash versus Frederick, Maryland’s Jonathan Ryan Burrs, who weighed 153 pounds. Polaco turned pro on the August 4 summer season premiere of Boxeo Telemundo, scoring a 1st round knockout as he also did on the September 4 summer finale. Despite turning pro, the 6’2” southpaw from Fajardo, Puerto Rico—who signed a promotional pact with series content provider All Star Boxing—still plans to proudly represent his island in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics next summer.

His longtime amateur teammate, Omar Rosario (1-0, 0KOs) also returns to the Kissimmee bubble after making his pro debut on August 21. The 22-year old Caguas, P.R. native—who is managed by Split T Management’s Tim VanNewhouse—weighed 144 pounds for a scheduled four-round welterweight clash versus Santa Clara, Calfornia’s Matt Gavers (1-4-1, 0KOs) who weighed 146 pounds.

Miami-based Georgian lightweight Otar ‘Pitbull’ Eransoyan weighed 134 pounds for an intriguing six-round lightweight clash versus Toa Alta, P.R.’s Luis ‘Purin’ Valentin (3-0, 1KO), who weighed 135 pounds for his first career bout in the lower 48 states.

Eransoyan turned pro on the August 28 show in Kissimmee, stopping DeShawn Kennedy in the 2nd round onn the undercard of Contreras’ aforementioned win over Preciado.
