The press conference of the boxing’s most famous lady, Christy Martin, was upbeat and surrounded by local media.

Martin sounded very positive about beating her new opponent Holly Holm of Albuquerque, New Mexico on September 16th at the Isleta Casino in Albuquerque. She said with a very confident tone, ”Holly Holm will bring her A+ game plan to the ring and I also will bring my A+ but my A+ is 110% better than hers.” Christy with a record of 46-3-2 , will battle Holly Holm (10-1-2) in a 144 lb limit fight.

When Christy was asked “why are you fighting Holly in her hometown” she said, “To prove a point that I am for real and not afraid to go into someone else’s hometown.”

“I also have a good Hispanic following and in New Mexico I also have a following.” When asked if she knew anything about Holly she said, “All I know is that she is left handed, very tall and she has never fought anyone close to my caliber.”

This is going to be one of New Mexico’s biggest female boxing events ever and it will be one of the biggest boxing shows since January 8th 2000 when Johnny Tapia fought Jorge Elicer Julio for the WBO Bantamweight Title in Albuquerque.

On the under card, Hector Munoz of Albuquerque will face Miguel “Conan” Torrecillas of Juarez, Mx.

Torrecillas said, “Munoz will go five rounds or less and I am fighting for Albuquerque as a lot of my fights have been in Albuquerque.”

As per word of casino management, tickets started selling on 8/11 and they are moving fast.
