Tim Tszyu made good on his pre-fight prediction that he would finish Tony Harrison in the ninth round by landing 45% of his power shots punches. After three rounds, Tszyu had landed 21 power punches to Harrison’s 5.

By the sixth round, Tszyu’s power punches landed advantage had ballooned to 58-18. At the time of the stoppage, Tszyu had landed 105 punches to Harrison’s 29. Harrison did land 49 jabs, almost doubling up Tszyu, but that was not enough to counteract Tszyu’s power. Tszyu also held a substantial 29-7 edge in body punches landed.

Sydney, Australia - In a high-stakes battle for the vacant WBO interim-junior middleweight title, Tim Tszyu (22-0, 16 KOs) broke down and stopped former WBC champion Tony Harrison (29-4-1, 21 KOs) in the ninth round.

Tszyu will now move forward to a showdown with undisputed champion Jermell Charlo. Harrison is the only fighter to defeat Charlo, who won by stoppage in their rematch.
