WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (23-0, 11KOs) is willing to face domestic rival Enzo Maccarinelli (33-5, 26KOs) - if Enzo, a former WBO cruiserweight champion, rebuilds his career. Macca is now fighting as a light heavyweight, although he returns on March 23rd in West Midlands in a bout with Shane McPhilbin for the British cruiserweight title.

Cleverly returns on February 25th in Cardiff, defending his title against Tommy Karpency. The Welsh champion does express interest in moving up to the cruiserweight division in the future.

“I’m not sure what path he (Maccarinelli) is going down at the moment, light-heavy or cruiserweight, but if he builds his name back up, wins the British and keeps going then of course a fight can happen, no doubt. I’ve achieved my dream as world champ and my next goal is to unify the light-heavyweight division in three fights, maximum. If I achieve everything I want at light-heavy there’s no reason why I can’t go to cruiserweight eventually," Cleverly told Wales Online.
