BoxingScene understands that the final eliminator for the IBF welterweight title, between Karen Chukhadzian and Harry Scarff, will take place in Hamburg, Germany on May 17.

In February Wasserman acquired the rights to promote the contest after winning the purse bid and will now work in conjunction with a local German promoter to stage the event.

The winner of the fight will become the mandatory challenger for the reigning IBF 147lbs champion, Jaron “Boots” Ennis.

It is little over 12 months since the brilliant American soundly outpointed Chukhadzian, 23-2 (17 KOs), to win the interim title. The 27-year-old Ukrainian rebounded by beating Pietro Rossetti to win the IBF intercontinental title in October 2023.

Derby’s Scarff, 13-2 (3 KOs), has been impressive since dropping down from the light middleweight division two years ago, and the 30 year old earned his shot by winning the British and Commonwealth titles from the previously unbeaten Ekow Essuman in November.
