Undefeated Puerto Rican boxer Christopher 'Pitufo' Diaz will be looking for a breakout performance on December 9th at The Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York.

Diaz will be part of the ESPN televised card which features the dream fight main event between Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigondeaux.

Diaz will find himself in a totally new scenario. A new weight class, as the fight takes place at the super featherweight limit of 130-pounds. He will also be led by a new team in his corner, with new head trainer Raul 'Chino' Rivas.

In the opposite corner that night will be Casey Ramos (24-1, 6 KOs), who is also looking for a statement win.

Ramos suffered his first career defeat a year ago, when he dropped a technical decision to Andy Vences. But he bounced back in April with a win over the always durable Miguel Beltran Jr.

"We're in New Jersey, all thanks to God, training a lot, it's an opportunity I can not let go, it's the door to place myself among the best in the world, it's the opportunity to put me in the mix with the top names at 130. I'm not worried about the weight because of my height and size. I've also fought [in the gym] with [boxers who were] 135 and 140 pounds and I felt good and that's the important thing," said Diaz (21-0, 13 KOs) to ESPN Deportes.

The challenge of climbing to 130 pounds as done so after struggling to make the 126 pound limit on two many occasions.

"It was difficult for me to do 126 pounds, I fought there since I was 17 but the body has grown a lot and the bones are bigger, and with that in mind you will see my best version on December 9," said Diaz.

After parting ways with trainer Ricky Márquez, Diaz believes that it's time to make it clear that this move was simply done to improve.

"I feel pretty good with 'Chino', we have had a good camp for three and a half months, I feel situated to the training he has given me, the style and with a complete team. I feel like a really good job has been done and that's what we want to show on December 9," Diaz said.
