Unbeaten featherweight Christopher Diaz has mostly fought on fight cards where Felix Verdejo was showcased in the main event.

That will change on September 24.

Diaz will face Raul Hirales on that date in Orlando, Florida or in Puerto Rico, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman told BoxingScene.com.

The eight round bout will headline a ‘Solo Boxeo Tecate’ card and will air on UniMas, beginning at 11 p.m. ET/ PT.

Diaz (17-0, 11 KOs), who is from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico and trains alongside Verdejo, has ascended into a legit prospect to watch in recent fights. In his last bout on June 11 in New York City, Diaz stopped Neftali Campos in the eighth and final round.

Earlier this year, Diaz scored wins over Angel Luna and Ray Ximenez.

Hirales (22-5-1, 11 KOs) has not fought since May 1 of last year, when he lost a one-sided eight round decision to Jessie Magdaleno. Hirales, who resides in La Paz, Baja California, Mexico, has lost his last three bouts in a row.

Unbeaten super middleweight Jesse Hart (20-0, 16 KOs) and unbeaten featherweight Toka Kahn Clary (19-0 1 ND, 13 KOs) will also fight on the Top Rank card in separate 10 round bouts.
