Cameron Dunkin, best known for having managed the likes of Kelly Pavlik, Nonito Donaire and Terrence Crawford among many other world champions, has added to his vast stable of boxers.

He told BoxingScene.com over the weekend - "We just signed a kid, D&D Boxing signed Christian Montano from Houston, Texas. He's a light heavyweight, 18-years old. He's absolutely sensational, I think. He's a top recruit."

As for his amateur pedigree, Dunkin pointed out - "he didn't have a lot of amateur fights. He won the  nationals in his eleventh bout. He just got back from Russia. He was at the Junior World ( Championships), he won his first two fights and he wound up losing to the Cuban who won the gold. It was a dead even fight,  a split decision.

The plan is to get Montano started early and often in his first year as a professional.

"I'm fighting him in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He's going to turn pro on March 18th and then I'll find something for him a couple of weeks after that," explained Dunkin. "I'm going to really get him going. He's physically strong like a 28-year old man. He's so strong and he hits so hard."

When asked if Montana might sign with Victory Promotions, like his other prospects such as Jarron Ennis, Dunkin answered - "I think so."
