Chris Eubank Jr believes that Caleb Plant will attempt to box Canelo Alvarez before getting caught in their undisputed super middleweight title fight.

Canelo puts his WBA ’super’, WBC and WBO belts on the line, whilst Plant brings his IBF title to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Showtime Pay-Per-View will carry the event.

Eubank Jr. is anticipating a box and move type of performance from Plant, but expects his Mexican rival to catch up with him at some point.

Asked how the fight will play out, Eubank Jr. told Pro Boxing Fans: “Similar to how the other fights play out.

“I think Caleb’s going to try and box him, try and run around the ring and not get too involved and then eventually he’ll get caught.”

The Brit returned to action with a fifth round retirement win over Wanik Awdijan last month and is set to fight in December, with Liam Williams reportedly the frontrunner to face him.

The 32-year-old has previously called for a showdown with Alvarez and believes the way to beat him is to trade with him.

“You’ve got to fight fire with fire,” Eubank Jr. added.

“If you’re going to go in there and try and survive, he knows how to beat that style, he’s proven it time and time again, eventually he’s going to catch you.

“What he doesn’t expect or what he hasn’t trained for is somebody who is actually going to come at him, out punch him, throw more shots at him, take his punches and come right back.

“No one’s doing that. They’re all running, they’re all hiding, not to get knocked out. They’re trying to last the 12 rounds with him. That’s not how you beat a man like that.”
