Torrance, CA - The newly crowned winner of the WBC Diamond super flyweight championship, Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (51-3, 41 KOs,) had one request in the aftermath of his unanimous decision win against Julio Cesar "Rey" Martinez, (18-2, 14 KOs).

Before he went back to his home country of Nicaragua, Gonzalez wanted to honor his trainer, Marcos Caballero, with a WBC trainer's championship.

WBC President, Mauricio Sulaiman, moved fast on this request and brought the belt himself to Los Angeles so Gonzalez' wish could be fulfilled.

Gonzalez and Team Chocolatito made their way from Coachella, CA to the WBC Headquarters in Torrance, CA to surprise coach Caballero. The moment "Chocolatito" walked into the office with the WBC trainer's belt, Caballero looked surprised and teary-eyed.

"This means so much to me, I didn't expect it. Thank you Roman Gonzalez, WBC and everyone for this honor! Last fight against Estrada, my granddaughters made me a paper champion belt because they felt I deserved it. Now I get to go home and show them the real thing," Caballero said.

"I'm very grateful to everyone on the team, but most of all, my wife. She has supported me since Day one, I couldn't do this without her support."

Later that day, Gonzalez made his way down the street to The Rock Boxing Gym in Carson, CA where he surprised amateur boxers in the community. Gonzalez walked into the gym, all the kids looked shocked to have the living legend in their gym. Chocolatito got the chance to speak to the kids, watch them spar and of course allowed them to take photos with him.

"I'm grateful and blessed to have the opportunity to visit the great kids. They are future of boxing. It's crazy because when I was a kid, we sometimes couldn't afford food to eat, now I can't really eat because I have to make weight, the irony of life," Gonzalez said.
