Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (46-0, 38KOs) has officially vacated the WBC flyweight title.

The move has been expected since September 10th, when Gonzalez moved up to 115-pounds and captured the WBC super flyweight title with a tough twelve round decision over Carlos Cuadras at The Forum in Los Angeles, California.

The World Boxing Council wasted no time in ordering a fight for the vacant title. They sent an immediate order to the representatives of the Mexican slugger Juan 'Churritos' Hernandez and tough Thai Nawaphon Sor Rungvisai - informing both sides to begin their 30 day negotiations period. If no deal is reached the fight will head to a purse bid.

Gonzalez, who has no date or opponent in mind for his planned return in early 2017, had made four successful defenses of the WBC's title at 112. The win over Cuadras made him become the first fighter from Nicaragua to capture four titles in four weight divisions. He previously held belts at 105 and 108-pounds.

Hernandez's promoter is very pleased with the outcome of the situation.

"We are very pleased. We have until October 21 to freely negotiate the fight. We have already sent an offer to Thailand and we hope to reach an agreement to stage the fight in Mexico for the month of December. We have full confidence that Juan will be crowned," said Osvaldo Küchle, director of Promociones del Pueblo, to ESPN Deportes.

'Churritos' Hernandez has a record of 33-2 with 24 knockouts and is riding a 15-fight win streak. His last defeat came in 2011, when he lost to Kazuto Ioka in Japan by unanimous decision. Nawaphon, who is known as Sor Rungvisai or Kaikanha, is unbeaten in 36 fights and has knocked out 28 opponents.
