Undefeated Jaidon Codrington and Curtis Stevens, a.k.a. “The Chin Checkers” gained victories by stoppages and thrilled their fans in a packed Manhattan Center in midtown New York on Thursday night.  They are co-promoted by rap mogul Damon Dash and Lou Dibella.

In the main event, Codrington faced tough Levan Easley for the New York State super middleweight championship.  In the first round Easley came out punching and had Codrington backing up.  Easley suffered a nasty cut during the round.

Lou Dibella was sitting next to me and was very excited about the hard hitting action.  After the first round I told him the fight will end on a stoppage because of Easley’s cut.  Lou said “Not now”, I said “Not now, later on”.  After the second round Codrington took over the fight and was clearly winning each round.  At the same time, Easley’s cut was getting deeper and the blood was gushing out.  Finally at 2:54 of the fifth round, referee Steve Smoger had seen enough blood and stopped the fight on the advice of the ring physician.

In the semi-final event, fellow Chin Checker Curtis Stevens, destroyed previously undefeated Jason Quick.  He dropped him in the first and knocked him out in the second round.  Stevens was dominating Quick with left hooks and body shots throughout the two short rounds
