Chavon Stillwell is anxiously awaiting the date for his pro debut.

The 22-year-old Ohio native is a highly decorated amateur who compiled a 180-20 record before moving to the professional ranks.

While he was very successful as an amateur, Stillwell believes he will be even better as a pro. He will start off at 175 pounds and work his way down to the 168 pound super middleweight limit.

"My mindset has now really changed.  It is really different. It is a whole different ball game now with the headgear off. I am just motivated to go in there and do my thing. I have a pro style. I really had a pro style in the amateurs. It is going to be better for me in the pro game. I don't have to throw as many punches to score points. I just can't wait to get started,” said Stillwell.

Bantamweight contender Damien Vasquez of Sugar’s Boxing Management Company says that the plan is for Stillwell to turn pro on a Premier Boxing Champions card in February or March.

He is training in Las Vegas under the guidance of fellow southpaws DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley and Joel Casamayor.

Stillwell has already started to make noise in the local Las Vegas scene, having dropped multiple professional fighters in and around his weight class. His team declined to reveal their names out of respect.

"I was shocked myself that I did that. I had just came down here and am trying to turn pro. It was amazing for real and it has spread like wild fire," Stillwell explained.

In there short time working together, Corley has been impressed.

"What he brings to the table is that he is a southpaw and that is special along with his size and speed. He is ready to learn from legends like me and Joel Casamayor. We are going to have him ready for his pro debut," said Corley.

"He is very slick. He can move his head pretty good for his size. He is a southpaw so right handed fighters won't be able to see the shots and he can move really well for his size.”

Casamayor is equally impressed and said that the key for the youngster is to say focused and to stay in the gym learning.

"He is very young and has a lot of talent. The key for him will be his discipline.  My advise is for him to keep learning from us and working hard.  He has been doing that and if he keeps it up he will be just fine," Casamayor explained.

As for his ultimate goal, Stillwell said it is simple. He wants to become a world champion and fight the biggest names.

“My goal is to become the WBC super middleweight champion. I want to beat all the top guys in the division,” said Stillwell.
