The legendary Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. is very impressed with WBA junior flyweight champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (30-0, 25KOs). On Saturday night in Chavez's hometown of Culiacan, Gonzalez will take part in a ten round non-title clash against Manuel "Meny" Jimenez, (11-2-1, 5KOs). Should Gonzalez win, he moves forward to an April 21st defense against former champion Ramon "The Prince" Garcia.

"He is a born puncher, hurtful and he knows how to throw punches up and down, but I think we need to see him face tougher opponents. I think he takes a lot of unnecessary punishment, but he needs to work on his defense to combat that. I have no doubt that he will be one of the best in the world in the smaller weights. He's smart in the ring and has a good line of attack. 'Chocolatito' can beat everyone at that weight, but his defense needs to improve. I would like to see him fight Archie Solis. It would be a challenge because Archie is experienced and a tough fighter," Chavez said.
